I’ve come to realize what bothers me so much about The Legend of Korra: While it has a clear goal, and a place it wants to go, it suffers from the same fault that Shitbender did. This show isn’t about characters. It’s a chess game. This is a show that thus far gives us CRAP (in comparison to the original series anyway) for character development or feeling for a character in more than a surface scratching way. It’s simply moving people around into the right place to checkmate the villain and end the season with little regard to the characters as people rather than pieces.
I get they have less time to do this writing, I do. You’ve only got 13 episodes to get stuff in line, but that’s not an excuse.
